Arrowe Sound Raises Over £230 at Tesco Heswall Charity Fundraiser

On Sunday 14th June, the Arrowe Sound team headed down to Tesco Heswall on the Wirral for a fantastic day of fundraising, community engagement, and spreading the word about your local hospital radio station.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Tesco Heswall for welcoming us and supporting our charity fundraising event. We’d also like to thank everyone who stopped by to chat with us, learn more about Arrowe Sound, and make a donation.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Tesco customers, we are delighted to announce that we raised a whopping £230+ during the day. Every penny raised helps support the ongoing work of Arrowe Sound as we continue to provide entertainment, information, and companionship to patients across our local hospitals.

Throughout the day, our volunteers had a wonderful time meeting members of the community, sharing information about the station, and highlighting the important role hospital radio plays for patients and their families. It was fantastic to see so much interest in what we do and to hear so many positive comments from local residents.

Of course, no Arrowe Sound event would be complete without a visit from our much-loved mascot, Soundhound! He was a huge hit with shoppers throughout the day, posing for photos, handing out smiles, and helping us attract plenty of attention. In fact, Soundhound enjoyed himself so much that he even ended up doing a shift behind the Tesco customer service desk!

Events like these are a great opportunity for us to get out into the community, raise awareness of Arrowe Sound, and meet the people who support us. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed and helped make the day such a success.

Thank you once again to Tesco Heswall, all the staff who looked after us, and every customer who donated. We look forward to returning in the future and continuing to support our local community.

This wasn’t our first visit to Tesco Heswall this year either. Arrowe Sound was also at the store on 31st May 2026, where we raised an impressive £240 for the station. Combined with the fantastic £230+ raised on our latest visit, the continued support from Tesco Heswall and its customers has helped generate more than £470 for Arrowe Sound in just two fundraising events. We are incredibly grateful for this ongoing support and look forward to returning again in the future.
